The Sussex Beacon Half Marathon is now full. |
Toilets |
|
Toilets for competitors will be located in the Colonnade shops just to the west of the start/ finish line and staggered alongside the starting area as far down as the Concorde 2 nightclub. There should be sufficient toilets spaced out to make them accessible to everyone right up to the start. We are able to hold this event under kind permission from Brighton and Hove City Council and would appreciate it if runners could refrain from using any area other than an actual toilet for urinating before the start of the race. This will help us to maintain our relationship with the Council and ensure that the event can be held for years to come. We thank you for your co-operation on this matter. |
Drink stations |
There will be 5 drink stations around the route. |
The start |
Event Marshalls and Stewards will allow access into the runner’s enclosure according to your number. Please do not try to push forward as the numbers and starting positions have been allocated according to anticipated finish times. Pushing forward can cause danger for yourself and fellow runners who may be running at much greater speeds once the race has started. |
Late Arrivals |
Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the race after the gun has gone, this is because we have to re-open roads and work to health and safety guidelines. If you attempt to enter the course after the tail vehicles have left you will be instantly disqualified and be unable to run as the first part of the course will be closed off completely. |
Spectator Spots |
There are some fantastic places along the route where you can cheer on the runners. We have put together a map that will allow you to see the runner’s, two, three or even four times without putting in anywhere near the effort that they will be. Due to Brighton’s unique layout there are lots of lanes to make short cuts through to another part of the course where it comes back on itself. We are encouraging shops, pubs and cafes to support the half marathon and provide excellent meeting points for all those coming along to support. The water stations on route will also be decked out to brighten up the course for runners and spectators and will also provide great vantage points. |
