Brighton half marathon

February 21st 2010 - Brighton seafront

We are pleased to announce that 2010 sees the 20th year of The Sussex Beacon Half Marathon. Started by the local running clubs of Brighton & Hove back in 1990 the event is now organised by The Sussex Beacon, a Brighton based clinical care centre for men and women living with HIV/ Aids.

With a route that encompasses all the fantastic aspects of Brighton & Hove
it is an event not to be missed whether you are competing or just watching. If you’re running the race why not raise money for charity at the same time?
You can find out about becoming a Sussex Beacon bond runner by clicking here.

The Sussex Beacon is working with a number of other key charities this year,

The Sussex Beacon is proud to be working with Brighton & Hove City Council, the University of Brighton and the Sussex County Sports Partnership
developing the half marathon and involving the whole community.

STOP PRESS - ROUTE CHANGE

The route has been changed. Please see the information below from Brighton & Hove Council for more information on the close of Undercliff Walk behind the Marina.

"This section of footway had to be closed in January because the recent cold weather caused more flints and chalk rubble than usual to become loose and dislodged. An inspection was carried out on Monday and indications are that further extreme weather may cause more rubble to fall.

It has therefore been decided that this section of the Undercliff Walk will remain closed whilst further monitoring takes place over the next few weeks. "
